Mwandi Hospital

The Mwandi Hospital project started in the mid 1980's.  Thyatira has supported its volunteers to travel abroad to use their medical, construction, and professional skills and help the people of this village of 6,000.

Tutoring Program

Since 1997 Thyatira has sponsored a tutoring program for the Mt. Ulla Elementary School helping children in grades first through third with their spelling, writing, and math.

Habitat for Humanity

• Sell tickets for the semi annual Rowan County Habitat for Humanity dinners each year.
• Participated in building houses in St. Petersburg, Florida; Eastern North Carolina and Rowan Co.
• Built the first handicap accessible house in Mr. Ulla (Rowan Co.)
